Happy New Year! I’m Prayerful that 2021 brings you Peace of Mind, Body, and Soul.
If you’ve been following me for a while, I really appreciate your continued support. And if you’re new, thank you for being here!
It’s the time of the year for some much needed reflection and introspection to set the right tone for this fresh new year. While 2020 turned out differently than we all expected at its start, it’s safe to say that a lot of good also came from it too – at least in my experience.
The isolation gave me a lot of time to reflect and learn about myself and my family. It also gave me time to work on things that are important to me, and that was beneficial for everyone in our household!
Are there any silver linings you can pull from your experience over the last year?
How has your perspective changed because of your personal experiences?
As we enter 2021, I suppose that we’ve all got goals, resolutions, and new beginnings on our mind.
For the past 15 years I’ve been sharing a list of goals to work on for the year with a great friend of mine. We share our goals in January and check in throughout the year to help one another stay accountable.
This year I’m keeping my list short, and I’d love to share with you what I will be working on. Of course, I’d also love to know what you are setting your intentions on, so please comment below or email me! It’s a great way to feel encouraged, supported, and accountable to the things that are important to you.
These goals are deeply personal to me and I find it difficult to share them before things are set in motion. However, I want to be transparent with you because, well, there’s no other way to be in my honest opinion.
Here are my top 3 goals for 2021:
1. Get my body back in order (the right way) after having baby #4
If you’re part of my group The “No Diet” Diet, you’ll know that I’ve been pretty open about my experiences and feelings about my own weight and body, especially throughout this pregnancy.
I’ve emotionally and physically struggled with my body image and weight for my entire life. I used to ascribe to over exercise, calorie restrictions, quick fixes, or anything else that would help me trim down quickly, but nothing worked long term. I constantly felt exhausted from the amount of mental and physical energy I was using just to try to lose or maintain my weight.
I currently have all of the knowledge, resources, and support I need to transform my relationship with my weight and body in 2021. I’ll be starting with the five tips I share about in my new book, Eating for Energy & Weight Loss. These steps cover everything from how to slow down with food to how to transform my mindset about my body and weight.
If you, too, want to transform your relationship with food, body, or weight, grab yourself my free PDF, which is based upon my book!
2. Start a Podcast
Around the same time I felt led to writing a book, I also felt led to starting a podcast. Although I know *nothing* about podcasting, I still know deep down that this is the right next step for me. Let the research begin!
Once things are set up and episodes are ready for downloading I’ll be sure to let you know so you can tune in. In the mean time, comment below and tell me what you’d like to learn about from my podcast episodes!
3. Float my book to publishers
This is the one that scares me the most. With full transparency I confess that I’m a recovering perfectionist. The thought of a publisher rejecting my book (what I put my heart and soul into for months) cripples me with fear.
Can you relate in any way?
I’m terrified, and sharing with you makes me even more terrified! Because, what if I fail? What if nobody wants to take this valuable and Life transforming information to the next level by helping me to share it with a wider audience?
I’ve seen firsthand how successful the steps I lay out in Eating for Energy & Weight Loss have been for the people in my network. My greatest desire is to share them with the world; to show others that they don’t have to suffer any longer when it comes to healing or getting healthy; that transformation can happen with the right steps, and it doesn’t have to be complicated.
This is the goal I desire to achieve the most, and that I’m most afraid of.
What are some of the things you plan to focus your attention and energy on in 2021? I’d love to hear from you!
