Step 4: Become open to change

Begin thinking differently

You will eventually begin finding yourself thinking and feeling differently.  Things that never bothered you before (helping Susan rearrange her living room in place of your own Self-care) will now seem like unreasonable requests.

Be open to these changes!  Others around you may not like or appreciate these changes, but they are for the betterment of your creative Self, and therefore, the betterment of YOU.

Those who are genuinely interested in your evolution and personal growth will support and encourage you rather than deflate you with their jealousy and negativity.

Embrace the change

Be honest with yourself and others about these changes.  In other words, say what you mean and mean what you say.

For example, if you have been wronged by someone, don’t say, “it’s OK” if it really isn’t.  Those around you, especially the ‘storm centers’ and ‘drama queens’, will not like the new you who says, “no” or, “I would like an apology”.  They will often make you feel sad and guilty for these changes.

It is up to you to embrace the change, reclaim your power, and continue on your Journey.  A good way to help you do this is to be consistent and set boundaries with those around you.
